Anarchists Sabotage
Train Lines in Northern

California

This action was taken in response to a larger call coming out of the Bay
Area to protest against the continued bombing of Gaza and the violation
of the Ceasefire by Israel.

On the morning of December 2nd at 5:00am we
sabotaged various strategically located train lines in Northern
California: in Pittsburgh, Oakland, Niles, Bahia, and Lodi.We used a
tactic shared by natives and accomplices of the Wet’Suwet’en tribe
in so called Canada. We took large gauge copper wire and
wrapped it around both rails of the same train track. Doing this
completed the low voltage current running thru the rails notifying
the train operator that the track is occupied and cannot be used
until the obstruction is found and removed. This method for
stopping train traffic yields the lowest possibility for derailment,
and thus the least likely to cause harm to human or animal life. We
did this in solidarity with the ongoing resistance to genocide being
waged against Palestinians by the so called state of Israel.
As anarchists we refuse to beg the masters of war for a ceasefire.
We took it upon ourselves to sabotage the ability of so called
Israel to commit genocide, by sabotaging the flow of capital in the
US, and thus the machinery for war abroad. We know that the
refined oil, the modems, computer parts, semi conductors, and all
other commodities traveling out of California along Union Pacific
and BNSF train lines everyday for export around the world,
facilitates the massacre of Palestinians. The so called state of Israel
necessitates the smooth flow of US tax dollars and direct material
support of all kinds to carry out a genocide of this scale. Every
shipyard, train line, warehouse, and trucking facility needs to
operate efficiently for the death machine to be seamless.

The genocide happening in Gaza is part of a much larger project
serving the West's deteriorating hegemonic rule over international
trade. The blockage of the Suez Canal for six days in March of
2021 highlighted how precarious this trade infrastructure is. It also
revealed how politically dangerous it is for the US, due to Egypt’s
alliance with Russia, to control such a linchpin in the global
economy.

Biden and Netanyahu seek to bypass the Suez Canal by
constructing their own ship route across occupied Palestine. The
Ben Gurion canal project, as it is called, named after the founder
of Israel, seeks to connect the Mediterranean Sea to the Gulf of
Aqaba, with it’s northern port of entry in Gaza. Palestinian
liberation stands alone as an obstacle against this furthering of
western hegemony. We refuse to be complicit in forcing Palestinian
people to pay the ultimate price for imperialist greed.
In targeting the infrastructure of global trade we recognize the
implications on this genocide. As insurgents in the heart of empire
we have an essential role to play. We have access to the inner
workings of the war machine, and we are uniquely placed to clog
it’s arteries. The flow of global capital is incredibly fragile-all it
takes is creativity and a willingness to act. We encourage others to
sabotage the logistics infrastructure of capital as a means of
disrupting business as usual. Bring the war home!

12/11| Action Taken Against BNY Mellon
in Solidarity with Palestine!

On Dec. 11 the 2nd Street entrance to Bank of New York Mellon's (BNY Mellon) offices
was turned into an art piece highlighting their support of the ongoing genocide in
Palestine. This was done in solidarity with the ongoing resistance to the Israeli
occupation, and to help mark the General Strike called for by Palestinians in response
to the U.S. vetoing the U.N. security council resolution to stop the war on Gaza.

BNY Mellon is an American bank that supports the Israeli & U.S. led genocide in
Palestine in two major ways: 1) They are a primary funder of Elbit Systems", the
largest weapons manufacturer for Israel; 2) they help facilitate U.S. money transfers in
support of the IDF through a charitable gift fund titled "Friends of the IDF** Donor
Advised Fund." BNY Mellon is on the 24th floor of the building that is host to many
other offices. The building occupants should know what their neighbors are doing -
they should know about BNY Mellon's complicity in the murder of Palestinian people.
Numerous international companies have divested from Elbit stock noting their
contribution to violations of international humanitarian law. In contrast, over the last
few years BNY Mellon has continued to increase their holdings (including since
October 7th) to a total of 68,000 shares valued at $13 million. This is direct profiteering
from genocide.

This is a call to target all institutions that are implicated in and/or profiting from the
murder of children and the ongoing colonization. These offices and the individuals
who run them*** are already drenched with the blood of Palestinians - make it visible.
Hold demonstrations, marches, vigils, and clandestine visits until the demands for
their divestment from Elbit Systems and the permanent removal of the "Friends of the
IDF Donor Advised Fund" from their services are met.

This was done in solidarity with the more than 18,000 Gazan's murdered since Oct.
7th, and all Palestinians resisting Israeli oppression.

This was done in solidarity with the thousands of Armenians from Artsakh that have
been murdered and displaced from their homeland by the Azerbaijani regime in 2023
and before.

This was done in solidarity with all who have taken action to disrupt BNY Mellon, Elbit
and it's subsidiaries, and any genocide profiteers around the world.

GLORY TO THE MARTYRS
LONG LIVE THE INTIFADA
PALESTINE WILL BE FREE

*Elbit systems is an Israeli-based military technology company that is the primary
provider of Israel's land-based equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's),
amounting to 85% of the equipment used by the IDF and Israeli Air Force. There is
also clear evidence linking Elbit's technologies to war crimes committed by other
colonial and oppressive regimes including Azerbaijan's ethnic cleansing of Armenians
in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

While there are many weapons manufacturers involved in the Palestinian genocide,
Elbit is a uniquely grotesque enabler of violence. Of particular note is their eagerness
to live-test new weapons technologies on Palestinian people as a mode of advertising
their weapons of horror to other apartheid regimes including India, Azerbaijan,
Canada, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Iceland, the E.U., Mexico, Switzerland and Thailand
(on October 22nd, 2023 the Israeli army released footage of a newly piloted precision-
guided 120mm mortar bomb called the “Iron Sting" being tested against Palestinians).
There has been a recent surge in efforts to hold Elbit accountable for their crimes
against humanity. Direct actions taken by individuals and groups across the U.K. and
U.S. have included the occupation of factories and offices, direct dismantling of the
weapons during production, and the targeting of subsidiaries, funders, and any other
companies that enable their work. These efforts are noble and inspiring, recently
leading to Elbit's U.K. branch's sole recruitment company - iO Associates - ending it's
association with the company.

“The Friends of the IDF is a non-profit, fundraising arm of the Israeli Occupational
Force. Their mission is to raise extra funds from private donors in the US in support of
the ongoing genocide against the Palestinians. In other words, they facilitate zionists
in the US investing personally in the weapons and personnel that are murdering
Palestinian people and stealing Palestinian land. People from the Bay Area may
remember the November Sth "Friends of the IDF Gala" that was hosted by this
organization in San Carlos and protested by community members - BNY Mellon is one
of a small number of U.S. banks that advertises services to facilitate the transfer of the
funds raised at that gala to Israel.

Young People Protest Genocide

and Denounce Censorship
Hundreds of young people, mostly high school
students, showed up after school at the San
Francisco Unified School District office on San
Francisco's Franklin Street to protest Israel's
attempt at Palestinian genocide. The students ,
many wearing keffiyes, now become a symbol of
solidarity with Palestine, also let it be known that
they will not be censored. Supported by
teachers and other adults, they demanded a
cease fire and inveighed against attacks and
discrimination against Muslims. Demonstrators
also demanded that money be for education, not
weaponry. With flags and signs, the protest
expanded into Franklin Street and yellow vested
protesters redirected traffic away. Though the
protest was just in back of City Hall, not one
police agent was visible. The action concluded
with a sound truck leading a short march.

People's Park, Berkeley
at Risk

UC Berkeley has begun preparing for an
upcoming assault on People's Park. This
Wednesday, surveyors were at the park to
measure the site for construction.

In August 2022, UC made a similar attempt to
'take the park.’ Despite hundreds of riot police,
they were only able to keep the park fenced for
several hours — during which time contractors
cut down a majority of the park's trees. The
destruction was highly emotional, as the park
runs deep and many knew of or were those who
had planted them in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.

By the afternoon, the police were forced to
retreat by individuals' scattered actions to block
bulldozers and equipment and pry open the
fences. The supposedly indestructible military
grade fences were torn down & the park was
liberated again!
Even though UC Berkeley is an educational
institution, it seems they haven't yet learned their
lesson. We must be prepared for the Park's next
chapter.

Screaming at the Gates

A Reportback from the New Year's Eve
Noise Demo at CMF Vacaville

In keeping with tradition, abolitionists from around the Bay
Area converged on New Year's Eve to hold a noise demo
at the front gates of California Medical Facility (CMF), a
prison in Vacaville that holds approximately 2000 people
captive (mostly disabled, ilmmuno-compromised, or in
recovery, many elderly). The group numbered around
30-40 and was heard from inside certain parts of the
prison, according to several reports. The entrance gate
where the action took place was adjacent to a
neighborhood, from which a lot of people came out to film
and take supportive interest in the event. In between
statements and words, we blasted music that echoed
throughout the prison property and the surrounding
neighborhood. Songs ranged from local classics such as
“Punk Police” by Mac Dre to anti-police bangers such as “I
Have a Dream, Too” by Dead Prez (a song that famously
lists the names of abolitionist martyrs such as George
Jackson, Yogi Pinell, and Ruchell Cinque Magee).
Two banners were raised on the fences by the prison
entrance; one read "FUCK CDCR", the other "FREE THE
PEOPLE/FREE THE LAND/BURN THE PLANTATION".
The banner colors were red, black and green on an off-
white banner, to show appreciation both for our New
Afrikan comrades in the prison, and to draw connections
between the struggle against the U.S. white supremacist
settler State and resistance to the genocidal Zionist
occupation of Palestine. We added pink to the banners to
signify solidarity with queer and trans prisoners in CDCR,
and solidarity with the survivors of FCI Dublin (another
scandalous Bay Area prison). Some of the prison's signs
were redecorated with marker.

Speeches were made through a megaphone and wheeled
sound system. People who have been involved in support
efforts for some comrades imprisoned at CMF shared
about the conditions inside this specific facility. Echoing
across the premise, they recited facts such as an account
of the recent string of targeted raids conducted by a group
of guards, who have been planting drugs and items
deemed contraband in the cells of Black and Brown
prisoners.

Attention was also brought to particular violations of Black
women in the visiting rooms, with cops forcing women who
wear wigs to remove them from their heads prior to
entering for bogus "drug searches." This, the speaker
explained, is part of a pattern of racially-concerted
antiBlack harassment in the visiting process at CMF. Black
prisoners and their loved ones over the past year have
also been frequently subjected to punishment for
expressing policy-sanctioned and legally-permitted acts of
romantic intimacy. One example in recent months is the
suspension of visits for a Black couple as retaliation for
sharing a kiss before departing at the end of a recent visit.
This heightened control of specifically Black prisoners and
visitors persists throughout the entire visitation process,
amounting to a systematic attack on Black intimacy and
bodily integrity.

Abolitionist organizers are preparing to begin a phone zap
and focused campaign, rooted in the principles of
autonomous direct action, that addresses these specific
conditions by targeting institutional pressure points of
CMF/CDCR.

Comrades spoke out in honor of Ruchell Cinque Magee
who spent the end of his very long sentence at CMF, only
to pass within months of his release. Cinque was the
longest held political prisoner in the U.S. to date,
imprisoned for 67 years and punished for his unyielding
resistance to the prison regime. The speaker who
commemorated Cinque also spoke about the past decade
of a resurgent Prisoner Movement, which between 2010
and 2020 has brought into motion a decade of insurgency,
prisoner uprisings and large-scale (statewide and
nationwide) strikes that have dramatically advanced the
trajectory of abolitionist struggles today. With this
resurgent phase of rebellion in mind, we are reminded of
our departed comrade Cole, who answered the Oakland
Abolition & Solidarity phone line when prisoners called for
many years, and who passed in 2022. He was with us the
entire day in the form of the Black and Red flags that he
used to carry to action after action.

We decided to hold the noise demo for about an hour and
then collectively bounce to evade getting stopped by
Vacaville PD. We intentionally planned the demo to start
when visitation was ending, so as to impact prisoners as
little as possible and to be seen by visitors leaving the
prison. Cars continued to stream in and out of the prison
gate; some waving as they passed, others honking and
cheering us on.

Two different people from the neighborhood came up to
our group to express support and that they had loved ones
inside of CMF. One person was on the phone with their
husband and shared that he could hear everything we
were saying from his location in the prison. Both people
were very excited that we were out there and very excited
to connect. Another comrade from inside reported they
could hear us from the yard, and also heard someone
doing donuts in a car on the other side of the prison.
Our emphasis was on reminding people inside the prison
that if they take collective action, there is an outside
movement that is working to support them. “You Are Not
Alone” was the rallying cry and underlying message
shared to comrades held captive in CMF. We showed out
not simply as a symbolic gesture of solidarity. We showed
out to directly affirm, in person, at the entrance of this
facility, that there is an existing support network of
autonomous groups, people, platforms and community
forums that can support them if they take direct action
against the prison.

Whether it is the need for phone zaps to expose or
challenge a particular normalized abusive practice, or the
need for material support during collective actions such as
work or hunger strikes, we have been diligent rebuilding a
decentralized abolitionist network that can support such
actions. Actions like these are an important part of building
a culture of resistance on both sides of the walls, wherever
you exist in this carceral hellscape.

Going out to the prisons for a noise demonstration means
something no matter what, but it is a surreal kind of
experience when you know people on the other side of the
wall. We encourage more groups who work with
imprisoned people, their loved ones, and other support
groups to rally numbers in their networks this year, to
continue building with others who have loved ones inside,
and to organize noise demos at the prisons, jails, and
detention centers for occasions beyond only New Year’s
Eve. Think toward Black August. Think longer term.

At the end of the day, a number of people involved in the
demo met to share a meal and reflect. Among those in
attendance, there was an overwhelming sense of
motivation and direction to seize initiative over the coming
years, and push the limits of what is currently imagined
possible with regards to demo-actions at the prison gates.
There was a sense, shared by some, that we could have
stayed out there for much longer than an hour.

For future consideration, we are calling on all to reconsider
the potential role and function of demo-actions within a
broader abolitionist anti-prison strategy, and to experiment
with the infinite array tools and tactics that can be drawn
upon when descending upon these gulag camps. We
encourage people to continue re-building a revolutionary
abolitionist movement in the Bay Area and beyond. Be
safe, stay dangerous.
